Director Steve M. Kelly and Screenwriter Simon Fantauzzo Exclusive Video Interview CITY RATS

Another of the many interviews I did while at this year’s Slamdance/Sundance Film Festivals was with Director Steve M. Kelly and Screenwriter Simon Fantauzzo for their new movie “City Rats”. The film premiered at this year’s Slamdance and it’s about eight people living in London and how their lives are interconnected.

Anyhow, the day after the film premiered I got to speak with both of them at the Queer Lounge on Main Street and they talked about how they started working together, how “City Rats” was made, and they talked a lot about why this film is different and worth your time.

As of now, I’m unsure of a domestic release date, but if you live in the United Kingdom, Steve said the film will be coming out in April.

Finally, a big thank you to Annie and everyone at the Queer Lounge for making this interview happen.

Director Steve Kelly and screenwriter Simon Fantauzzo part 1

  • When they first made the film, was Slamdance one of the goals
  • When did the idea for City Rats come from
  • Were the characters based on anyone he knows
  • Steve Kelly says what the film is about and why you should see it
  • He also talks about how this film is different

Director Steve Kelly and screenwriter Simon Fantauzzo part 2

  • How did they meet and what was the casting process like
  • What is the distribution plan for City Rats
  • They talk about how the film has played in America
