ENTERTAINMENT INTERVIEWS
Sean Hayes and Molly Shannon Exclusive Video Interview – IGOR

Opening tomorrow is “Igor,” and it’s another animated film aimed at families. But while most animated films are bright and sunny, “Igor” has taken a road less traveled. You see, unlike most animated films, “Igor” is more of a monster movie, and it’s definitely been influenced by Tim Burton.

The movie takes place in the land of Malaria, and it’s the story of one Igor that’s sick of being a lowly lab assistant. When his cruel and bossy master dies a week before the annual Evil Science Fair, he finally gets his chance to prove he’s much more than just an Igor. With the help of two of his experimental creations - Brain, a brain in a jar who’s a little light on brains, and Scamper, a cynical bunny that can’t die, Igor embarks on building the most evil invention of all time, a huge, ferocious monster.  Unfortunately, instead of turning out evil, the monster turns out as Eva, a giant aspiring actress that doesn’t have an activated evil bone. And if that wasn’t enough, he and his band of misfits uncover an evil plot that threatens their world.  Now, they must fight to save it and prove that heroes come in all shapes and sizes.

Anyway, I recently got to interview a lot of the voice cast and the interview below is with Sean Hayes and Molly Shannon. In the film, Sean and Molly play the voices of Brain and Eva.

As most of you know, Sean was on a NBC show that had one or two fans…it was called “Will and Grace.” And funny enough, Molly has a new show premiering on NBC in a few weeks and it’s called “Kath and Kim.” But you may have seen her on a show called “Saturday Night Live.”

Anyhow, as you’ll soon tell, interviewing them was a lot of fun and they both had a lot of energy and seemed excited to be there and promoting the film.

Finally, if you missed the movie clips from “Igor,” you can watch them here. Again, “Igor” arrives in theaters tomorrow.

Sean Hayes and Molly Shannon

  • We talk about my t-shirt which is all about the high gasoline prices
  • Did the name Malaria help them to take a part in the film – it’s the name of the country in the movie
  • I ask about recording process and getting their performances with their voices
  • Sean talks about his character in the movie
  • They both talk about what they have coming up. Molly talks about her new TV show on NBC and Sean talks about his work in Soul Men – the upcoming Sam Jackson/Bernie Mac movie
