"Adam" (Picked up by Fox Searchlight)
Hugh Dancy ("Savage Grace") plays a man with Asperger syndrome who falls in love with his neighbor, played by Rose Byrne ("Damages"). Written and directed by Max Mayer.
"Black Dynamite" (Picked up by Sony)
It's a blaxploitation spoof starring Michael Jai White. I would explain more but I think that picture at the bottom of the article pretty much sums it up.
"Brooklyn's Finest" (Picked up by Senator)
Three unconnected Brooklyn cops wind up at the same deadly location after enduring vastly different career paths. Stars Richard Gere, Ethan Hawke, Ellen Barkin, and Don Cheadle. Directed by Antoine Fuqua
"An Education" (Picked up by Sony Classics)
Written by Nick Hornby from a memoir by Lynn Barber, "An Education" stars Sundance "It Girl" Carey Mulligan as a 16-year-old British schoolgirl who falls hard for a charming older man played by Peter Sarsgaard. Dominic Cooper and Alfred Molina also star. Directed by Lone Scherfig.
"Humpday" (Picked up by Magnolia)
Film stars Mark Duplass and Joshua Leonard as two straight best friends who decide to film themselves having sex for an art project. Directed by Lynn Shelton.
"The Winning Season" (Picked up by Lionsgate)
The film tells the story of onetime basketball star (Sam Rockwell) who is brought on to coach his local high school’s girls basketball team. With this and "Eastbound and Down" I wonder if '09 is going to be the year of fuck-up sports stars doing purgatory in high school P.E.
