UPDATE - As the studios are starting to provide us with the clips, we are removing the Hulu links so people around the world can watch. Keep checking back for updates.

Written by Matt Goldberg

Even if you're not a die-hard football fan, you watch the Super Bowl because it has the best ads.  Despite our failing economy, NBC managed to sell all the ad-time for a record $206 million dollars.  It's the one time of year where people use TiVo to re-watch ads rather than skip them.  Below you can find every movie advertisement that aired tonight and my brief thoughts on each.

GI JOE: THE RISE OF COBRA

They actually showed this one before kickoff (yes, I know it was online already) but here's what I like about it: a) they dissolve the Eiffel Tower which is awesome because not enough world monuments get dissolved in movies; and b) ninjas.  No major motion picture this year will show as much love towards ninjas as "GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra".  And for 8 new "G.I. Joe" images, click here.

ANGELS & DEMONS

I have not been the biggest fan of "Angels & Demons".  But clearly if you liked "The DaVinci Code", you're going to be on board for this flick and tonight's ad for you.  For the rest of us, could someone please crack a joke?  Why can't these films be slightly funny or light-hearted like the "National Treasure" movies?  I'm sure the Vatican can take a joke.  They work in a building of marble and gold as they praise a man who preached poverty.

YEAR ONE

Michael Cera gets all the laughs here.  Again, some people are going to start crying "He only plays one character".  Fuck those people.  Bob Newhart only played one kind of character.  He killed it.  If he's making you laugh, then why do you care?  Besides, the guy is young.  People act like it's always and forever.  Anyway, rant over.  Not a bad ad.

FAST AND FURIOUS

This teaser was a little pointless since it's just taking bits from the full-trailer but at least it showcases what people want out of a "Fast and Furious" movie--fast cars, some punching, and Vin Diesel totally confident when face by a gas tanker hurtling towards him.

LAND OF THE LOST

It looks like a comedic "Jurassic Park" (although that blue-screen effect at the end with the T-Rex looks atrocious) and that's not bad.  Also--sleestaks.  You can't argue with Sleestaks.  Oh, and not enough movies tell Matt Lauer to suck it.  That's my problem with this year's Academy Award nominees.

STAR TREK

Again, like "Fast and Furious" this a spot ill-served by the lack of new footage.  But these ads are also used just to raise awareness.  At some point, you have to step outside the bubble and says "Not all ads are to show fans new footage; sometimes it's to let a guy in Topeka know that they're making a new 'Star Trek' movie."  Now that guy knows.  Can we have some new footage, please?
