Emma Stone is hot, both in the traditional beauty sense and in terms of her career. She's not only in this year's "Ghosts of Girlfriends Past", next year's "Zombieland", and Zack Snyder's upcoming "Sucker Punch", but now she's in talks to star in Screen Gems' comedy "Easy A".
In the film, Stone would play a girl in high school who pretends at being a slut in hopes that she'll benefit from the perception that she's promiscuous. It's a re-telling of Nathaniel Hawthorne's "The Scarlet Letter" although I'm not quite sure that's what he was intending in his story about a woman living in a puritan society (although there's admittedly a lot more to the story than that one aspect).
It's very cool to see Emma Stone moving from supporting roles in films like "Superbad", "The House Bunny", and "The Rocker" becoming a lead player. My only concern is that this is under Screen Gems banner and they're not exactly known for quality. Hopefully Stone can elevate the film past its production company.
