LOST BOYS: The Tribe to Premiere at Comic-Con on the 24th

Warner Premiere has just sent over a press release that announces the premiere of Lost Boys: The Tribe at this year’s Comic-Con in San Diego. While this isn’t really a surprise as the street date was a few days after the con…what is a surprise is that they’re going to show it in Ballroom 20. If you aren’t familiar with the con, Ballroom 20 is a pretty big room and one that would allow many people to watch it together and without too much drama getting in.

Unfortunately, due to how many people attend Comic-Con, often the studios will schedule something cool in a very small room or a small theater, so only a lucky few can see it. With a screening in Ballroom 20, it’ll be easy for everyone.

And another thing about Lost Boys: The Tribe, a few months back I interviewed Corey Feldman on his show The Two Coreys. The embargo has finally been lifted, so in the next few days expect a pretty good interview to be on the site. Until then, here’s the press release:

WORLD PREMIERE OF WARNER PREMIERE’S LOST BOYS THE TRIBE TO BE AT COMIC-CON INTERNATIONAL IN SAN DIEGO ON THURSDAY, JULY 24TH

The next chapter to the 1987 cult classic feature stars Tad Hilgenbrinck, Angus Sutherland, Autumn Reeser, with appearances by Jamison Newlander, Corey Haim and Corey Feldman as Edgar Frog

Comic-Con International in San Diego will host the official world premiere of the highly-anticipated Lost Boys The Tribe on Thursday, July 24th in Ballroom 20 of the San Diego Convention Center, it was announced today.  The 10:00PM screening of the film gives Comic-Con attendees the chance to see the film five days before its official Blu-ray and DVD release date on July 29th.

The direct-to-DVD feature is directed by P.J. Pesce from a script by Hans Rodionoff and stars Tad Hilgenbrinck (American Pie: Band Camp) as Chris Emerson, Angus Sutherland (Passing Strangers) as Shane, Autumn Reeser (The O.C.) as Nicole Emerson, with appearances by Jamison Newlander and Corey Haim from the original Lost Boys film as well as Corey Feldman as Edgar Frog, the original vampire hunter.

The premiere will feature appearances by cast members Corey Feldman, Tad Hilgenbrinck, Angus Sutherland and Autumn Reeser, director PJ Pesce, writer Hans Rodionoff and other exciting special guests to be named later, who will participate in a question and answer session following the screening.

“I am very much looking forward to the release of Lost Boys The Tribe,” said Corey Feldman.  “I enjoyed stepping back into the shoes of Edgar Frog and I believe fans will enjoy this one as much as the original, but in its own way.  I am especially excited that we are premiering the movie at Comic-Con, where the true horror fans can see it first”

An homage to the 1987 cult hit The Lost Boys, Lost Boys The Tribe tells the story of a brother and sister who move to a sleepy surf town in California, only to get mixed up with a gang of surfers and extreme sports junkies that are more than they appear to be.
