Our first glimpse of "Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins" is online and all 60 seconds of it look just about as bad ass as I could have hoped – what I could see of it anyway. There are lots of jump cuts and stylishly shaky camera work employed, but that's why it's called a teaser trailer. Warner Brothers is not looking to give away the plot, they just want to make sure you're sufficiently hooked so that they may reel you in and gut you at a later date.

The timing of this trailer release was spot on. As you may know, "Terminator 4" stars Christian Bale as the grown-up John Connor. In case you haven't heard, Bale also happens to be headlining another WB pic that may, if the rumors I've heard are true, prevent male pattern baldness AND usher in an age of complete peace among nations. So while Bale and Batman and Baldness are paramount in moviegoer's minds, why not try to capitalize on all that hype by subtly hyping another ridiculously anticipated blockbuster? No reason I can think of, so tease away trailer gods.
