Is Bollywood Remaking SHOOT ‘EM UP?

A movie that I really loved was last year’s action extravaganza “Shoot ‘Em Up.” In case you missed it…the movie was directed by Michael Davis and it stared Clive Owen, Paul Giamatti and Monica Bellucci and it was literally non-stop action. The film featured every possible gun fight you could have in a movie, and it also had Monica Bellucci as a lactating hooker. If that doesn’t get you excited, stop reading now. Those that got the movie, saw one hell of a film.
Anyway, while some didn’t catch the awesomeness that was “Shoot ‘Em Up,” one audience that definitely got it was Bollywood. And how do I know they liked it? Because they are currently making a movie that sounds a lot like “Shoot ‘Em Up.”
The film they’re making is called “Sadhu,” and the film’s story revolves around a newborn, his mom and his protector – who is played by an actor named Nagababu.
While I don’t know all the specifics, as you can see in the images below (courtesy of cinestills.andhracafe.com), it’s very obvious with the look of the characters and the locations that they’ve seen the movie and they’re not hiding the influence.
Despite being difficult to locate and see Bollywood movies here in the States, I’m definitely going to keep my ears open for “Sadhu.” If I find out any more info, expect updates. Until then, here’s some images from the remake and the original film.
The resemblance of Sadhu to Clive Owen is amazing.
