Earlier this week, we spoke with Brandon Routh (who is playing Evil Ex-Boyfriend/Vegan Todd Ingram in Edgar Wright's upcoming "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World") that the "Pilgrim" will feature hand-drawn animation. That's it. The Internet ran with it. And as the Internet ran with, it picked up rumor fluff to the point where "Scott Pilgrim" creator Bryan Lee O'Malley had to clarify at the New York Comic Con.
MTV's Spalsh Page spoke with O'Malley to clear up the matter: "I think what he said was kind of blown out of proportion by the rumor mill," said O'Malley "It’s not going to be like half the thing is hand-animated, like they’re saying on the Internet lately."
Again, we never said that. You said that, Internet. Bad Internet. Go sit in timeout.
O’Malley explained that he believed Routh was talking "more about special effects and incorporating some hand-drawn doodling and stuff. It’s not going to be a hand-drawn Michael Cera."
If you want hand-drawn Cera, just look at the "Juno" DVD cover. Craving: satisfied.
As for whether he’d be the one providing that animation, O’Malley said, "I might be involved a little bit, but it’s still kind of early on that."
Clarified! 500EXP.
