Jackie Chan, Nicolas Cage, and Wesley Snipes Confirmed for THE EXPENDABLES 3; Milla Jovovich Joins Cast

It seems like the goal of The Expendables movies is to put together a dream-team action cast, and then figure out the plot.  Audiences have been pleased with the line-ups of the past films, and producer/star Sylvester Stallone is hoping to keep fans happy.  We previously reported that Jackie Chan, Wesley Snipes, and Nicolas Cage were all circling The Expendables 3, and now it looks like Stallone has got them.  According to Deadline, the three actors are in “advanced negotiations” to join the film, and Milla Jovovich is also in talks to fight in the boys’ club.  Jovovich could be a fun addition to the mix, and the series has definitely run short on female firepower.  Audiences love her in the Resident Evil franchise, and I don’t think they’ll have any problem seeing her kicking ass alongside Stallone, Statham, et al.

Looks good to me! Would love to see a real 90′s icon in the mix though, Costner, Russell, Ford or Gibson but ah well.

I remember reading that stallone asked russell for ex1 but he was turned down. But I’d have to agree that he should look for some 90s icons as well to spice up the batch.

Yeah I’d really like to hear Russell’s reasoning for not doing part I. Allegedly KR’s agent said he wasn’t doing ensemble acting at the moment. Now that he’s acting again maybe he can pop up for a cameo?
A slimmed down Seagal and just released Snipes could have made a truly diabolical villain duo.

Now this is going to sound extremely sexist, but I don’t mean it as such. Wouldn’t it make more sense to have Jovovich be in the all female ExpendaBelles spinoff, it just seems strange that the male to female ratio will be so uneven

Maybe she could be in both and be the character that joins the two teams together? Maybe a bit ridiculous but i’m all for it.

I would love to see Snipes come back as Blade. The original Blade and the second one were outstanding dark comic book movies. Hopefully Marvel can get a talented director on board and stick their nose out of the creative process. I would literally walk out of the movie theater if Blade starts throwing out one liners like all the Marvel super hero’s do.

Yeah but, it wasn’t really about Snipes being Blade… Sure he sold blade like you wouldn’t believe, but look at the third film…

It was Del Toro who directed and lead (from Goyer scripts) those 1st 2 gr8 films.

Not Goyer (who wrote & directed the 3rd) & is currently headlining writing duties for Man of Steel…
      - yikes – lets hope the gr8 director of ‘sucker punch’ Zach Synde… the fantastic actor of ‘the cold light of day’ Henry Cavi… bullocks…

Del Toro didn’t direct the first film. Goyer has written a lot of good films. Dark City, Blade 1 and 2, Batman begins, The dark knight, and now from what I’ve heard Man of Steel. He’s written some shit movies, but when he’s edited by either studios or great directors he writes great stuff. Cavill hasn’t done many films, but I do remember him being pretty good in the Tudors. And I loveed Watchmen, Dawn of the Dead, and 300 from Zack Snyder. No one will know the quality until the movie comes out.

Goyer was given the keys to his own franchise and what did he do with them? Made Blade III. He should forever be reminded of that folly and destroying his own house.

I am with all the people who want Kurt Russell. We need Snake Plissken.
