I’m intrigued by Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. For the first time we’ll get to see a story set in the wizarding world, penned by creator J.K. Rowling, and no one can whine about how it’s different from the books. This is the beginning of a fresh tale, and while some stories are wholly dependent on their characters to survive, Rowling has created a fantastic world that I deeply want to visit no matter the time or the place. Hopefully, we’ll like Newt Scamander and his crew as much as we liked Harry Potter and his pals. Fantastic Beasts has a lot of potential, and I can’t wait to see if it pays off.

I’m pleased to announce we’re giving away 25 admit-two passes for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. To enter for a chance to see the movie early and for free, send an e-mail to Collider.Passes@gmail.com with the subject line “FANTASTIC BEASTS”. The screening is on Tuesday, November 15th at 7:30PM at Regal Atlantic Station so don’t enter if you think you’ll be unavailable. Multiple entries from a single person will disqualify all entries from that person.

In case you haven’t seen the latest trailer, check it below. The film opens November 18th and stars Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol, Colin Farrell, Ezra Miller, Samantha Morton, Ron Perlman, Carmen Ejogo and Jon Voight.

Here’s the official synopsis for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them:

“Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” opens in 1926 as Newt Scamander has just completed a global excursion to find and document an extraordinary array of magical creatures. Arriving in New York for a brief stopover, he might have come and gone without incident…were it not for a No-Maj (American for Muggle) named Jacob, a misplaced magical case, and the escape of some of Newt’s fantastic beasts, which could spell trouble for both the wizarding and No-Maj worlds.
