While the first teaser trailer dropped a couple weeks ago, we still haven’t been given much of a look at the Harry Potter spinoff Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. The trailer kept most of the magic underwraps, so previously released images (here and here) still served as a window into this new-yet-old world. But now, via Empire Magazine, we have new images to add as we continue to piece together the story.

The project brings back Harry Potter-veteran and director David Yates and sees for the first time J.K. Rowling as the screenwriter for a film set in her wizarding world. They will be telling the story of Newt Scamander, played by Eddie Redmayne (The Theory of Everything), a wizard and magizoologist in the 1920s who visits New York City and must try to find some missing fantastic beasts. Check out the new image below.

They are pulling double duty, because not only must they do magical world-building American style, but they must also tell it in the world of 1920s New York City. And this image further reveals the attention to detail necessary, from the cobblestone streets to the hats on heads to the roads infested with both cars and people. And of course, a frazzled-looking Newt Scamander looking for those beasts (or experiencing the Big Apple for the first time). Not pictured is the stellar cast accompanying Redmayne, which includes Colin Farrell (In Bruges) , Ron Perlman (Hellboy), Jon Voight (Ray Donovan), Katherine Waterston (Inherent Vice), and Ezra Miller (Trainwreck).

Beyond the new image, the article goes on to cite producer David Heyman, who had this to add to what we already know about the plot:

“Newt is a magizoologist who’s just completed a global journey to find and document magical creatures for a book he plans on writing. His case is important because it contains some of the creatures he’s been researching. It may be small, but there’s a whole world within.”

It is safe to say that the aforementioned book is what Harry, Ron, and Hermione will be reading 70 years later at Hogwarts, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Then again, there are two more movies for Newt to get into adventures and write more books about. But this first film will arrive November 2016.
