The Fantastic Four trailer finally arrived so now it’s time to pick it apart, screengrab by screengrab. As we learned in our exclusive interview with director Josh Trank and producer Simon Kinberg, the film is influenced by David Cronenberg’s work, specifically when it comes to the transformation of Reed Richards (Miles Teller), Sue Storm (Kate Mara), Johnny Storm (Michael B. Jordan) and Ben Grimm (Jamie Bell), and you can certainly see it in our first official look at the film. As someone who isn’t particularly familiar with the source material, the teaser doesn’t clearly convey what will make the film a standout from a story perspective, but I do really appreciate the choice to highlight the tone of the movie, something that makes this first promo especially captivating.
Check out all of our screengrabs from the Fantastic Four trailer as well as the seven hi-res screengrabs 20th Century Fox sent over below. Fantastic Four hits theaters on August 7th and also stars Toby Kebbell, Tim Blake Nelson and Reg E. Cathey.
