Over the past few months, we’ve heard a number of different titles (Fast Six, Furious 6) for the 6th installment in the Fast and Furious franchise. But thanks to the studio releasing the first poster, we know it’s officially called Fast and Furious 6. While I understand the logic in that title, I think Furious 6 sounds a lot cooler.
As we learned the other day when we posted the synopsis, the new film has Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) trying to stop a group of mercenary drivers led by an unnamed mastermind (Luke Evans) and Letty (Michelle Rodriguez). Hobbs recruits Dom (Vin Diesel) and his crew to help bring down the criminal outfit, and in exchange will provide pardons for the Rio heist. The film also stars Paul Walker, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Sung Kang, Gal Gadot, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Elsa Pataky, and Gina Carano. Here’s the official synopsis for Furious 6:
Since Dom (Diesel) and Brian’s (Walker) Rio heist toppled a kingpin’s empire and left their crew with $100 million, our heroes have scattered across the globe. But their inability to return home and living forever on the lam have left their lives incomplete.
Meanwhile, Hobbs (Johnson) has been tracking an organization of lethally skilled mercenary drivers across 12 countries, whose mastermind (Evans) is aided by a ruthless second-in-command revealed to be the love Dom thought was dead, Letty (Rodriguez). The only way to stop the criminal outfit is to outmatch them at street level, so Hobbs asks Dom to assemble his elite team in London. Payment? Full pardons for all of them so they can return home and make their families whole again.

Furious 6 is the better title. It works better with the rest of the titles in the franchise.
Nice poster and yeah I probably would have went with Furious 6 as the title. Considering its a teaser poster, maybe they can still change it. That said I’m really looking forward to this. The last one (Fast Five), was surprisingly really entertaining and fun.

Furious 6 sounds like a Gung-Fu movie LOL trust me I know these things! As long as it’s filled with cars,shootouts and fast women 6x over I don’t give a shit!

The fact that this franchise has made it to 6 movies is pretty amazing. The fact that the 5th installment was the best out of all of them is even more amazing. If part 6 is any good at all, we might have an apocalypse on our hands!

I’m not a fan of these kind of movies, but the previous one was a hell of a great action flick!
