Unless you’ve been living in the land of horse and buggies for the last ten years, you know that The Fast and the Furious franchise has dominated theaters with big muscles and bigger engines. With the fifth installment, Fast Five, ready to open in less than two weeks, a new interactive trailer has popped up that is chock full of extra gearhead information. Like, did you know that the car Vin Diesel and Paul Walker drive off the cliff is a 1966 Chevy Corvette Grand Sport? Or that Jordana Brewster looks smokin’ hot in a 1966 Ford GT40?

The film stars Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Dwayne Johnson, Jordana Brewster, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges and Tyrese Gibson, produced by Neal Moritz and directed by Justin Lin. Fast Five is set to be released on April 29th. Hit the jump to check out the new interactive trailer.

Fast Five brings many of your past and furious favorites back on screen for an all new heist. This time the gang is in Rio, the girls are somehow hotter and the action is bigger than ever. The new interactive trailer (1) doesn’t have many new scenes at first blush. But once you click on all the icons that come up, there is a wealth of information. To save you from clicking your mouse like a jackass, you can just click “Reveal All Facts.” Or read below to see what’s available.

Here’s the interactive trailer (via Yahoo!):

fast-five-movie-poster-02As you watch the trailer, a little GPS navigation will map your progress. If you click on everything, you’ll unlock five checkpoints. While there aren’t exactly any spoilers if you watched the trailer, the clips that are unlocked do have extended versions of the scenes:

Roman: Extended fight scene between Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel (awesome!)

Tej: A clip from the gang trying to open the stolen safe

Gisele: Clip from Justin Lin about the amount of action pieces in Fast Five

Vince: Extended version of the train wreck and car jump

Han: Heist truck blueprints

There is a lot of cool stuff here, from galleries of the cars and behind-the-scenes shoots, to extended clips from the movie and stunt sequences. You can check out some other clips here and a ton of hi-res images here. Of course the rest of our coverage on Fast Five can be found here.

And if you’ve made it this far and don’t know that Fast Five is about tough guys, hot girls and fast cars, here’s the official synopsis for you:

Vin Diesel and Paul Walker lead a reunion of returning all-stars from every chapter of the explosive franchise built on speed in Fast Five. In this installment, former cop Brian O’Conner (Paul Walker) partners with ex-con Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel) on the opposite side of the law. Dwayne Johnson joins returning favorites Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Matt Schulze, Sung Kang, Gal Gadot, Tego Calderon and Don Omar for this ultimate high-stakes race. Since Brian and Mia Toretto (Brewster) broke Dom out of custody, they’ve blown across many borders to elude authorities. Now backed into a corner in Rio de Janeiro, they must pull off one last job in order to gain their freedom. As they assemble their elite team of top racers, the unlikely allies know their only shot of getting out for good means confronting the corrupt businessman who wants them dead. But he’s not the only one on their tail. Hard-nosed federal agent Luke Hobbs (Johnson) never misses his target. When he is assigned to track down Dom and Brian, he and his strike team launch an all-out assault to capture them. But as his men tear through Brazil, Hobbs learns he can’t separate the good guys from the bad. Now, he must rely on his instincts to corner his prey…before someone else runs them down first.
