Anticipation has been building all summer for AMC's The Walking Dead companion series, Fear the Walking Dead. The wait is just about over since the new show premieres this Sunday in a 90-minute episode, but if you just can't stand it any longer you'll be happy to know that AMC has made the opening scene of the series available to watch.

Starring Kim Dickens, Cliff Curtis, Frank Dillane and Alicia Debnam-CareyFear the Walking Dead takes us back to the earliest days of the impending Walker apocalypse. The series' story centers on a dysfunctional, blended family living a normal existence in Los Angeles, until strange events start to complicate their lives. It takes quite some time for the family - and almost everyone else in L.A. - to realize that the dead are returning to hunt the living, but as you can see in this early look at the premiere, Fear the Walking Dead certainly does not shy away from showing the Walker menace.

So what did you think? While the show doesn't hesitate in showing off a freshly turned Walker in the first three minutes of the premiere, they do take their time in bringing more Walkers into the show after that. They're strategically placed but are also few and far between. This makes sense considering the epidemic is just getting underway, but it also makes for some slow plotting.
