AMC has unveiled a trailer for the midseason premiere of Fear the Walking Dead Season 2. It becomes readily apparent that the second half of the season will take our survivors South of the Border into Tijuana, not too far from where Comic-Con attendees are currently enjoying the latest and greatest their favorite shows and movies have to offer. As far as Fear the Walking Dead goes, other than a brief shot of scenes that are reminiscent of sister series The Walking Dead and the fantastic zombie comedy Shaun of the Dead, this trailer makes a lot of promises.

As Nick travels off on his own, his bloody Walker disguise keeping him safe from the dead, he stumbles into a whole different kind of danger. And to make matters worse, he's dragging his family and friends into the mess with him. While the frustrating decisions made by the protagonists are certain to continue in the latter half of this season, the trailer also teases some rich philosophical and cultural areas to mine: the bordertown's survivors seem to be split between the ultra-violent cartel-like fighters and the religiously devout who are faithful even in the face of certain death. It will be interesting to see how our heroes interact with each of these groups and the figureheads who speak for them.
