Marlon Wayans has made quite the career out of spoofing major motion pictures, a successful trend he looks to continue with Fifty Shades of Black. It should go without saying that the upcoming comedy is a take-off on the Fifty Shades of Grey movie. The newly released trailer does a great job at getting this point across if the title didn't already do it for you, and the impressive part is how close it skews to the tone and look of the source material. Sure, there are the requisite low-brow gags present in this first look that are sure to be scattered throughout the film, but the fact that Wayans and company are playing their characters almost straight makes the goofs even funnier.

None of Wayans' spoofs have achieved the box office take of 2000's Scary Movie which brought in over $157 million on a production budget of less than $20 million. Wayans and Open Road Films have managed to change up their production model by making their spoofs for a few million dollars and then taking in ten times their budget at the box office. It's a solid plan that will likely continue with Fifty Shades of Black, which also stars Kali HawkMike Epps, and Jane Seymour.
