The final poster has just been released for director Richard Kelly’s “The Box” and it’s after the jump. As a fan of “Donnie Darko”, I’m really hoping this is a return to form for the filmmaker as his last film (“Southland Tales”) did absolutely nothing for me. In fact, it was a red hot mess. But I’ve been told “The Box” is a more straightforward mainstream release and I’m really hoping that’s true.
Anyway, with Comic-Con next week, I think he’s planning on showing some footage from the film, so we’ll know a lot more soon. Until then, check out the poster.
Finally, if you’re a fan of Richard Kelly, make sure to follow him on Twitter as that’s how I found out about this poster. Also, I’m on Twitter as well.
here’s the synopsis:
Norma and Arthur Lewis are a suburban couple with a young child who receive an anonymous gift bearing fatal and irrevocable consequences. A simple wooden box, it promises to deliver its owner $1 million with the press of a button. However, pressing this button will simultaneously cause the death of another human being somewhere in the world…someone they don’t know. With just 24 hours to have the box in their possession, Norma and Arthur find themselves in the crosshairs of a startling moral dilemma and face the true nature of their humanity.
