The first images of Chris Evans on the set of Captain America: The First Avenger are now online. Consisting of four overhead shots, the images reveal a noticeably bulked-up Evans sporting a classic head of hair reminiscent of Cap’s 1940s time period (when a film is almost a year away from release, a man’s haircut is about the best commentary I can conjure up). Yesterday we brought you a video walkthrough as well as some other images from the set of the film. However, none of them featured Evans. Thus, by default, today’s pics are much cooler.
In addition to Evans, Hayley Atwell, Tommy Lee Jones, Stanley Tucci, Sebastian Stan, Neal McDonough, Toby Jones, and Hugo Weaving also star in Captain America. Directed by Joe Johnston, the film opens July 22nd, 2011. To check out the images from the set, hit the jump.

Oh ye little people who know nothing about filmmaking…
Looks like they have him wearing plastic over his bare feet for in between takes. But what’s odd is how short his pants are. I’ll bet this is right after he’s given the serum, and he actually grew like six inches! Also, Good Christ! Look the size of his arms and shoulders! It’s great build for Cap.
