With the Toronto Film Festival taking place next month, I’ve landed a ton of new movie images from all the films that are premiering at the Festival. Since I have so much to post, I’m going to keep all the intros pretty brief. So if you’d like to see the first 5 images from Werner Herzog’s “My Son, My Son, What Have Ye Done”, take a look after the jump. The film stars Michael Shannon, Willem Dafoe, Chloe Sevigny, Udo Kier, and Michael Pena:
When I spoke to Michael Pena about director Werner Herzog’s “My Son, My Son, What Have Ye Done”, he told me some pretty crazy stuff. He said the movie takes place in a play and there were ostridges and flamingoes involved. And after reading the official synopsis and seeing these images, I can see why he had a tough time explaining the movie.
Also, while most filmmakers are lucky to get one film in a festival, Werner Herzog’s “Bad Lieutenant Port of Call: New Orleans” is also premiering there. I’ll have images from that film in a few minutes.
Here’s the synopsis:
Inspired by true events, My Son, My Son, What Have Ye Done, is a story of ancient myth and modern madness. Brad Macallam, an aspiring actor performing in a Greek tragedy, commits the crime he is to enact in the play by killing his mother. The mystery unfolds in a series of flashbacks displaying the psychological destruction of the killer set off by an ill-fated white-water kayaking trip in a distant land.
