Predators, Nimrod Antal’s anticipated sequel to the Arnold Schwarzanegger classic was finally previewed at the South by Southwest Film Festival in Austin last night. 20th Century Fox, which is producing the film, also released a new teaser poster. The sneak peak does not say anything that producer and screenwriter Robert Rodriguez has not already revealed in interviews but the cinematography is sleek and the Predators look as bad-ass as ever. Even better, Adrian Brody looks half-way believable as the hero of the story. You’ll have to wait until July 7th to get to the chopper but until then hit the jump and check out both the sneak peak, the poster, and the official synopsis.

Here’s the official synopsis for Predators:
A bold new chapter in the Predator universe, Predators was shot on location under Rodriguez’s creative auspices at the filmmaker’s Austin-based Troublemaker Studios, and is directed by Nimród Antal. The film stars Adrien Brody as Royce, a mercenary who reluctantly leads a group of elite warriors who come to realize they’ve been brought together on an alien planet… as prey. With the exception of a disgraced physician, they are all cold-blooded killers – mercenaries, Yakuza, convicts, death squad members – human “predators” that are now being systemically hunted and eliminated by a new breed of alien Predators. In addition to Adrien Brody, the film stars Topher Grace, Alice Braga, and Laurence Fishburne. Co-starring are Walton Goggins, Danny Trejo, Oleg Taktarov and Mahershalalhashbaz Ali.

This looks awesome!!! I just hope its a helluva lot better than both AVP movies. Burned twice is bad, but a third? Unforgivable!
However, so far this does look like a great return to form, and I'm very curios to see the “other” Predators. And that Pred-Dog thing looks cool (although a bit Avatarish)
As long as it's not put in 3D all should be fine
THis looks better than expected. Feels more like a remake than a sequel. AVP movies were jokes. This feels like they took the material seriously. Color me interested.
