Photos taken only yesterday on the New Mexico set of the SNL skit-turned-feature “MacGruber” have made their way onto the interweb. Aside from one glamour shot of Ryan Phillippe, the pics still don’t prove why Lorne Michaels decided to upgrade this one minute sketch parody of “McGyver” into a full-length feature… but that’s just me. See what you think after the jump.

Now, we here at Collider have always been kind of hard on the “MacGruber” adaptation. Aside from the hiring of Jorma Taccone as director I believe the word that has come up most often when discussing the project has been “Ill-advised”.
I have it from a pretty reliable source (SNL’s Bill Hader is reliable when it comes to the subject of funny), however, that the “MacGruber” script is “hilarious” and that the film will stretch the limits of the MPAA’s ‘R’ rating. So maybe being ill-advised was a great move after all.
In case you haven’t heard of “MacGruber”, here’s the synopsis:
Another Saturday Night Live skit makes the transition to the big screen with this Rogue Pictures production. Will Forte returns as MacGruber, a comedic spin on the ’80s TV character MacGyver. Kristen Wiig, Val Kilmer and Ryan Phillippe co-star.
