Movies.ie have just debuted the very first posters for Mike Newell’s adaptation of the popular videogame “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time” starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Gemma Arterton, Ben Kingsley and Alfred Molina.  I have to say…okay.  I mean, they’re not ugly or anything, but they’re the kind of posters that could be for anything.  It is a little odd that one poster reads “Defy the Future” and another reads “Destiny” but I doubt these two characters are in conflict because he’s the hot Caucasian male lead and she’s the hot Caucasian female lead so it’s more likely that they’ll be kissing at the end rather than trying to kill each other.

Hit the jump to check out the posters and click here or on the posters below to see them full size.  “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time” hits theatres on May 28, 2010.

UPDATE: We now have the Jake Gyllenhaal poster in hi-res.

One more quick note before the posters.  “Prince of Persia” currently has no presence at this year’s Comic-Con which is kind of weird when you consider it’s one of Disney’s tent-poles for 2010.  It’s possible these posters may be available but don’t hold me to that.  Okay, now you can check out the posters:

Great outfit and all, but horrible poster.
And is that really the font/lettering style theyre going with? So misplaced. The poster looks more like it belongs to a contemporary michael mann film than an ancient swashbuckling adventure in the same vein of pirates of the carribean. Sack the designers!

Totally agree with you DREDD. Doesn’t express the feel and theme that follows the genre. Please go back to the press before releasing!
