DreamWorks has released a very short teaser trailer for their fall animated movie Megamind. Featuring the voices of Will Ferrell, Brad Pitt, Tina Fey and Jonah Hill, the movie takes a new spin on the superhero genre by focusing on the villain. A few months ago I saw a DreamWorks presentation and they showed us the beginning of the film. As I wrote:
Imagine if Superman (without the powers but same origin) was raised by criminals. That’s Megamind (Will Ferrell). The back-story is Megamind was sent to Earth but instead of being raised by caring parents, he landed in a prison yard and was taught his values by criminals. Of course no villain is complete without a superhero to fight, and that would be Metro Man (Brad Pitt). And like any good superhero story , there has to be a woman who is the center of it all, and she’s a reporter named Rozanne (Tina Fey).
While the teaser trailer doesn’t tell you any of that info, it does focus on the voice cast, and with the names they’ve landed, it’s a great start. Watch it after the jump.

Hope Tina Fey, Will Ferrell,and Jonah Hill's voices/talent override Pitt's lack of talent. He is the worst actor by far in the cast.
Meh. The storyline sounds fun. It should be a fun one time watch.
Though I always question why animation films (Dreamworks especially) feel the best way to market is to talk about the voice cast. That's a key difference between them and Pixar. You don't see any of the Toy Story 3 trailers going ” TOM HANKS. TIM ALLEN. ETC ETC”. They're selling the story.
Looks like story parts discarded from Monsters Vs. Aliens. Maybe doing 3-4 movies a year isn't the best idea guys…
