Paramount Pictures has unveiled the first trailer for Baywatch. Directed by Horrible Bosses helmer Seth Gordon, the film is based on the popular 90s TV series and puts a comedic spin on the lifeguard tale with Dwayne Johnson filling the role of Mitch Buchannon and Zac Efron starring alongside him as Matt Brody. Baywatch opens in theaters on May 26, 2017.

Deadline reports that Arrow’s Greg Berlanti will helm a new revamp of the movie musical Little Shop of Horrors. The original started on the stage as a musical from director Roger Corman and was then famously adapted for the screen for director Frank Oz in 1986 with a cast including Rick Moranis, Steve Martin, Ellen Greene, and Bill Murray. Berlanti’s film is described as “a fresh take” on the story about a man who raises a plant that turns out to be a carnivorous man-eater from outer-space. No release date has been set.

Variety reports that an English-language remake is in the works for the Korean zombie film Train to Busan. The outlet mentions that both Fox and Sony were trying to acquire the rights, but they ultimately went to the French studio, Gaumont. No word on a director or cast as of yet, but development is underway and apparently Gaumont has already been approached by a number of Hollywood talent agencies and prominent directors.

Good Morning Collider Crew! Now that Spider-Man is officially a part of the Marvel Universe (and was part of Team Iron Man), do you think that Peter Parker had to sign the Sokovia Accords? If not, do you think the film will address it at all? Also, do you think the odds are above or below 80% that the new Spider-Man trailer beats the number of views that The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 trailer had in a 24 hour period? Thanks for all the entertainment!

Rocky Drago writes:

Greetings Collider Crew. One the most anticipated films for many people next is War for the Planet of the Apes, #ApesofHorses. My question is, do you think it will cross the billion-dollar mark? Rise made almost $482 million dollars & then Dawn made a little over $710 million dollars. I personally feel it will come close but won't due to the massive competition it will face in July. Does it rely on the quality and so – if it’s the best in the Apes series, will it have a chance? Thanks for taking my question & bring on the Filthy!
