I was under the impression that Date Night would have stars Steve Carell and Tina Fey as a married couple who undergo a series of comic mishaps as they try to have a nice night out on the town-a kind of quasi-remake of The Out-of-Towners. But as the first trailer shows us, Date Night is a comedy-action movie. The plot may be “married couple vs. gangsters” but the movie looks like “Carell/Fey vs. bad jokes/director Shawn Levy”. Here’s hoping that Carell and Fey win.
