If you ever wanted to see two grown men employed as high school teachers take swings at each other in the parking lot after school, then Fist Fight is your very specific dream come true. Ice Cube and Charlie Day prepare to do just that in the new comedy from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia director Richie Keen that hails from 21 Laps Entertainment.

There's some good comedic promise here, but it's pretty simple: Charlie Day isa funny motherfucker and Ice Cube is one of popcorn comedy's best working straight men. Also, the idea of Day trying to land a punch on Cube is pretty funny. I'll give them that. Otherwise, I'm not sure I see the appeal here since two grown ass men and model figures to students coming to blows like a couple teenage punks makes me feel Clint Eastwood levels of cranky. That said, I'm always down for a surprise comedy success and Fist Fight has the kind of cast that could pull it off.

Also starring Tracy Morgan in his first film role since his tragic car accident, the ensemble includes Jillian BellChristina HendricksJoAnna Garcia SwisherDean NorrisKumail Nanjiani and Dennis HaysbertFist Fight debuts February 17, 2017. Watch the new trailer below:

Here's the official Fist Fight synopsis:

On the last day of the year, mild-mannered high school English teacher Andy Campbell (Day) is trying his best to keep it together amidst senior pranks, a dysfunctional administration and budget cuts that put jobs on the line.  But things go from bad to worse when he accidentally crosses his much tougher and deeply feared colleague, Ron Strickland (Ice Cube), who challenges Campbell to an old-fashioned throw down after school.  News of the fight spreads like wildfire and ends up becoming the very thing this school, and Campbell, needed.
