Warner Brothers’ “Clash of the Titans” remake has added three more names to its cast. And I won’t lie to you… you have probably never heard of any of them.
Joining the cast of director Louis Letterier’s adaptation of the 1981 camp classic are Mads Mikkelsen, Gemma Arterton and Alexa Davalos. Any of those names ringing a bell for you? No? Then perhaps I can be of some assistance.
According to The Hollywood Reporter Mikkelsen is “one of Denmark’s most recognizable faces.” So if you’ve been to Copenhagen recently, that’s probably why his face looks so familiar. Mikkelsen also played Le Chiffre in “Casino Royale”. I probably should have led with that instead of Danish superstar angle, right? Mikkelson is set to play Draco, the leader of the Praetorian Guard who accompanies Perseus on his wacky adventures through Greek mythology.
Interestingly, Mikkelson is not the only former Bond actor to sign on to “Clash of the Titans”. Gemma Arterton, who was last seen in “Quantum of Solace”, has also been cast in the remake as the demi-goddess Io. The term ‘interesting’ is completely relative, of course.
