Four New Posters for ZOMBIELAND

It would be an understatement to call “Zombieland” the breakout hit of 2009.  The film has racked up critical acclaim and box office numbers to match.  It’s already made almost three times its budget and at a time when zombie films have become a little tiresome, it’s nice to see there’s still some life left in the genre.

Four international posters for the film landed online today and I hate them.  Not because they look cool or they’re funny but because they’re inaccurate.  Rules #8 and #21 are never mentioned in the film so they’re spurious claims at best.  Also, “Don’t Be a Hero” is Rule #14.  Sure, I don’t know how to visualize the “double-tap” but that doesn’t mean you just make up the rules.  I seriously doubt that the person who made these would survive a zombie apocalypse.  You can see these posters after the jump but make sure you see “Zombieland” so you understand the rules and survive the zombpocalypse.

For those just tuning in, here’s a brief synopsis:

Two men have found a way to survive a world overrun by zombies. Columbus is a big wuss — but when you’re afraid of being eaten by zombies, fear can keep you alive. Tallahassee is an AK-totin’, zombie-slayin’ badass whose single determination is to get the last Twinkie on earth. As they join forces with Wichita and Little Rock, who have also found unique ways to survive the zombie mayhem, they will have to determine which is worse: relying on each other or succumbing to the zombies.

Zombieland was awesome. Very stylistic and a bit of an emotional roller-coaster…gory, sad, funny one after the other. I love th ezombie stripper in that poster…that was a funny moment in the movie

I can accept 2 out of the 4 posters, it is already mentioned Don’t be a hero is the wrong rule, but rule #8 also defies logic. When Columbus first met Tallahassee, he had way more than 8 rules and he was by himself. How can Columbus have a rule about having a kick ass partner, before he had a kick ass partner? Still a great movie though.

Different model coming out of the club too, with a different outfit to boot!

I went and saw this movie yesterday after playing hookie from work and wife and kids. It was a very very rare treat to sneak off and catch a movie and lunch.

Really enjoyed the movie, was a great 80 mins away from reality, but the one thing that I just don’t get……

I was happy with the “Puppy” for Tallahasee, it is beyond me why the director and writers felt the need to change that 3/4ths the way through the story line. Having a boy the same age, I really felt that the director put a needle in my bubble, burst it right then and there.

WTF! What purpose did that have in the overall theme of the movie? I don’t need to know his TRUE motivation for why he kills Zombies, I am perfectly comfortable knowing that he uses garden shears to revenge his puppies death, not his 3 year old sons.

Still pisses me off. If I wanted to go down that emotional road, I would have picked “Where the wild things are” instead.

Why can’t I have just a simple Comedy/Horror/Zombie Flick. Leave parent’s heart strings out of it.
