From the ashes of the unfortunately canceled Lone Star rises another series from that pilot’s director Marc Webb (500 Days of Summer). Deadline reports Fox has picked up the new comedy series Battleground with Webb executive producing the series with actor J.D. Walsh who is also writing. The series is an ensemble workplace comedy set in the world of political campaigning. While Webb crafted a fantastic pilot for Lone Star, it’s likely he’ll be quite busy with the Spider-Man reboot and unable to direct this new pilot. However, the filmmaker will still oversee writing on the series. Hopefully Fox will treat this one with some respect.

THR has news on the demise of ABC’s My Generation which has been canceled after two episodes. The mockumentary lost a whopping 31% of its viewers from the pilot premiere (which wasn’t impressive to begin with) and production has been stopped immediately. It’s unclear what will be moved into the time slot before Grey’s Anatomy. If you’ll remember, Brendan didn’t like the pilot, and it seems like not many others did either. It sounds like some other cancellations may be around the corner too as NBC’s Outlaw is on the bubble. We’ll keep you posted as more shows face the executioner.
