Sam Raimi is handing off the director’s chair of his film The Shadow to David Slade. According to Latino Review, five years ago, Sam Raimi (The Evil Dead, the Spider-Man series) purchased the rights to the film version of the popular 1940′s radio show and pulp novels, only to really do nothing with them. Sony, who had the rights to the film, has apparently now given up on the project and sold it to Fox for one million dollars. Along with that change it would appear that 30 Days of Night director David Slade, who’s currently also working on The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, will get the reigns with Raimi set to produce.

The Shadow (which already had a film version starring Alec Baldwin) is the story of a man who learns, while traveling in the orient, to hypnotize people and thus becomes invisible. Essentially the Shadow’s alter ego is a Bruce Wayne style figure, lots of money and a huge badass. Orson Wells would often voice the character in the radio shows which makes you wonder how Alec Baldwin came to playing the character. The coolest part of the character though is that he has been known to show up as a member of the DC Universe. While highly unlikely, it would be awesome to see some cool DC cameos. We’ll give you more on this story as it happens.

You really think it'd be cool to see DC characters
turn up in a Shadow movie? Do you get paid to breath as well?
I know Americans need people to take their infantilism seriously, but
this is some atrocious 'bottom-of-the-barrel' mental state you've been lumbered with, DOOD!

Raimi should direct this one. Wait, he did that already in the amazing Darkman.
