Fox Plans to Exert Greater Dominance in Animated TV Programming by Ordering a New Animated Show from the ROBOT CHICKEN Gang

Fox’s Sunday line-up of “Animation Domination” did very well for the network this past week with the season premiere of “Family Guy” and the series premiere of its spinoff, “The Cleveland Show”.  With Seth Green already set to write an episode of “The Simpsons”, Fox is hoping that Green can bring the magic from his Emmy-nominated “Robot Chicken” to the network’s primetime line-up.  Hit the jump to keep mourning the loss of “King of the Hill”.

Already a success on Cartoon Network’s [adult swim], Fox has asked Green and “Robot Chicken” co-creators Matthew Senreich and Tom Root for a presentation and a script for a new animated project.  THR says that the show “will have an aesthetic familiar to viewers of Fox’s popular animated comedies,” meaning no stop-motion.  But it will “have the comedic sensibilities of our other shows,” which I hope doesn’t mean forced irreverence fading into irrelevance.  My biggest question is why would Green do multiple animated shows (he also does “Titan Maximum” on [adult swim]), plus voices on “Family Guy”, and then use his free time to do a supporting role in “Old Dogs”?
