Will we ever get to see that Fraggle Rock movie? Last year, Joseph Gordon-Levitt was announced to star in a live-action feature film version of the Jim Henson franchise. There’s been virtually zero updates on the project since then, but to help make the wait a little more bearable, fans of the original series will be happy to know it’s returning…kind of.

HBO, the original home of the 1983 series, announced (via Deadline) that the show will return to the network in newly remastered HD. The series featured a lovable cast of creatures called Fraggles, rendered with puppets. They lived underground with other creatures called Doozers and Gorgs (and Marjory the Trash Heap!), and the show followed their various adventures and musical stylings.

HBO confirmed to TVLine that the remastered show will be featured on broadcast channels, as well as streaming platforms HBO GO and HBO Now, at the end of the year.

Meanwhile, The Henson Co. and Lisa Henson are producing the film adaptation. Gordon-Levitt, who’s been busy with Snowden and HitRecord, said of the series:

The first screen personas I ever loved were Henson creations, first on Sesame Street and then on Fraggle Rock. Jim Henson’s characters make you laugh and sing, but they’re also layered, surprising, and wise. From Oscar the Grouch, to Yoda, to the Fraggles. I’ve never stopped loving his work, even as a young frisky man, and on into adulthood.
