Frank Miller has directed a TV commercial for the new Gucci fragrance, “Gucci Guilty”.  The commercial stars Evan Rachel Wood and Chris Evans and features music by Friendly Fires.  The ad looks, unsurprisingly, like Miller’s The Spirit.  Personally, I prefer a Gucci ad from a couple years back that starred James Franco.  You can check out both ads after the jump.

Franco really did star in a Gucci ad, but I like this take on it:

The new ad reminds me of that idiotic love scene from Top Gun… which means it's still better than The Spirit. HEYYOOOO!

Why get Chris Evans if you can barely tell its him?

Oddly enough, I think this is somewhat of a confirmation of Miller as a one-trick pony. This over the top noir-ish look and content that he goes for in all of his film adaptations are at best decent (Sin City), but usually cheesy and irritating. Which is unfortunate, because I think Rodriguez (aside from Miller's horrible dialogue) created a visually appealing Sin City.

Yeah, I second this question. I think Frank Miller should experiment beyond the old Sin City effects.

people, when u have the talent, vision, publications and fame, frank miller’s got, then ur opinion will actually count… besides, have u ever heard about art styles? what would’ve been of van gogh’s work if he had actually listen to an ignorant like urselves, that he should try other than odd swirls and spirals… (impressionism in case u need to google it), please, think before talking, or at the very least, give strong based arguments…
