First Look at a Frost Giant Action Figure from Kenneth Branagh’s THOR Movie

While Marvel showcased many action figures from both Thor and Captain America: The First Avenger at this year’s Comic-Con, you knew they had to be holding at least a few things back.  Now, thanks to the magic of eBay, the first image of a Frost Giant action figure has been released.  If you’re not familiar with the universe of Thor, here’s what wikipedia has on them:

These giants, also known as Etins are enormous beings who reside in the other-dimensional realm of Jotunheim, one of the Nine Worlds in Asgardian cosmology. They are the traditional enemies of the gods of Asgard, with whom they have fought with for millennia, trying to bring eternal night to Asgard.

Thanks to ebay seller Keithadam and Marvelousnews for the story.  Also, thanks to comicbookmovie for the other Thor action figure images from Comic-Con.  For more info on the Frost Giants, here’s Marvel’s page.

The film follows the mighty Thor (Chris Hemsworth), a powerful but arrogant warrior whose reckless actions reignite an ancient war. Thor is cast down to Earth by his father Odin (Anthony Hopkins) and is forced to live among humans. A beautiful young scientist, Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), has a profound effect on Thor, as she ultimately becomes his first love. It’s while here on Earth that Thor learns what it takes to be a true hero when the most dangerous villain of his world sends the darkest forces of Asgard to invade Earth.

Seriously? A GIANT has a mere head length on the Gods. OK… Riiight! I think those action figures need to go back to the size drawing board.

As funny as it sounds, maybe they don’t want the trolls to be huge to be somewhat realistic(even though they’re frost giants). I also believe that’s Ymir! I’m Stoked!

Either way,the film looks like it’s going to be amazing.

…I am sorry, but fear this movie is going to be horribly dreadful. Second that on Green Lantern, also…. I sure hope I’m wrong.

        Really??

Another thing, I hope those swords are just for the figurines only and not for the film but part of me knows that they won’t let Thor just fight with his hammer…. Meh, still looks awesome.

After typing my previous statement, I realized there also might be the possibility that they forget Thor can’t be apart from his hammer for more than 60 seconds but since Donald Blake and Thor are sperate entities in this, I have no idea what their take might be. Just gotta wait until it comes out!

I could be wrong, but I don’t believe they’re going to include the Donald Blake alter-ego at all. Like they have with the other Marvel-produced films, I think they’re making Thor more in line with his “Ultimate” incarnation (Sam Jackson as Nick Fury, etc.). Ultimate Thor did not have a human alter-ego, and I don’t think the Thor film will include one either.

I’m still waiting for Black Thor!
