Teaser Trailer and Poster for Disney Animation Studios’ FROZEN

     June 18, 2013

Yesterday, we saw the first images from Disney’s 53rd animated feature film, Frozen.  The story centers on a young dreamer named Anna (Kristen Bell) who teams up with Kristoff (Jonathan Groff), an extreme mountain man, to find her sister Elsa, the Queen of Arrendelle (Idina Menzel) who has accidentally trapped their kingdom in eternal winter.  No one will know any of that from this teaser, which centers on Kristoff’s reindeer/steed Sven and the comic-relief snowman, Olaf (Josh Gad).  I understand that the movie isn’t out until November, and there’s plenty of time to get to the plot stuff, but it’s still not the best idea to look like you’re aping Ice Age (silent supporting characters in a cold environment comically go after an inanimate object).

Hit the jump to check out the teaser trailer.  Frozen opens in 3D on November 27th. [Update: We've added the film's poster to the article as well.]

Here’s the official synopsis for Frozen:

When a prophecy traps a kingdom in eternal winter, Anna (voice of Kristen Bell), a fearless optimist, teams up with extreme mountain man Kristoff (voice of Jonathan Groff) and his sidekick reindeer Sven on an epic journey to find Anna’s sister Elsa (voice of Idina Menzel), the Snow Queen, and put an end to her icy spell. Encountering mystical trolls, an amazing and comedic snowman named Olaf, Everest-like conditions and magic at every turn, Anna and Kristoff battle the elements in a race to save the kingdom from destruction.

Matt Goldberg is suck a fucking tool. It’s a TEASER TRAILER to a childrens movie, why would you expect to get the whole plot in 90 seconds?

Maybe because this movie has been in production for over 2 years now, and Disney is being very secretive about it? Maybe it’s because around the same time last year, Wreck it Ralph had a full trailer about the plot? Or maybe because the movie is coming out in 5 months and we still don’t know what to expect?

Disney used to make movies that interested both adults and kids. These days, their fairy tail movies (which is what disney is all about) are just targeted towards children. Please explain to me how a reindeer/caribou could act like a dog?

If this scene is in fact included in the final film, I can’t see how it advances plot or introduces character. This is only a comedic relief standalone scene. They worked on Ice Age, we do not need to see one of these in a Disney film. Also, hadn’t they already done the whole big-animal-acts-as-a-dog thing on Tangled? Why recycle, when they could’ve done so much more? I’m all for keeping the kids entertained while telling a quality story, but this first look hit all the wrong notes.

I’ve already saw the whole movie in early screening in tempe
Half of the movie was still draft .. I can’t tell you a lot but most of the audience were happy .. me personally I can’t wait to see the complete version
First tangled and now frozen .. the magic is back again

Disney is so racist. The dark skinned animal(Moose) has to go out onto a limb to save the nose from a lilly white snow man.
    Paula Dean and now this!!!
