‘Furious 7’ Deleted Scene Shows Letty’s Search for Lost Memories

With the film coming out on Blu-ray next week, Universal has released a new Furious 7 deleted scene. In the scene, we see where Letty (Michelle Rodriguez) went in order to recover from amnesia and try to reclaim her lost memories.

It’s odd that they even bothered with this subplot, but then again, the series has a tough time figuring out how to use its female supporting characters. Putting Letty on the side of the villains was a neat twist for Fast & Furious 6, but Furious 7 struggled with trying to make her a full-fledged part of the team again. They couldn’t stick her in a safehouse like they did with Mia (Jordana Brewster), and they admirably wanted to build on her character arc. However, as this scene shows, it looks like they came to something that’s painfully cheesy, and not in the fun way where this series normally excels.

Personally, I’m more curious about everything involving Brian O’Connor’s storyline and how things changed before and after Paul Walker’s death. I assume that will be revealed some day down the road, but right now it looks like they’re keeping towards softer material like  Letty and the Kindly Nurse with Plenty of Free Time.

Check out the Furious 7 deleted scene below. The Blu-ray will be available on September 15th.
