With just a couple of weeks to go before release, Universal Pictures has released a new Furious 7 featurette as well as a few more new images for director James Wan’s (The Conjuring) upcoming sequel. Nobody can deny that things are very different this time around, in the wake of Paul Walker’s death, and this new featurette discusses how Furious 7 is both an evolution in the franchise as well as a tribute to a beloved human being.

In the new behind-the-scenes featurette, the cast discusses how Furious 7 is the most mature entry in the franchise to date, with Vin Diesel saying what’s really been taken to the next level is the emotional integrity. Early word on the movie has been positive (read Perri’s review here), and I’m looking forward to seeing how this emotional aspect of the film is handled—in addition to all the cars driving out of airplanes, of course.
