First Footage from G.I. JOE: RETALIATION Starring Dwayne Johnson

     December 10, 2011

The first trailer for G.I. Joe: Retaliation lands on Monday, but a glimpse of footage from the film is now online. The action pic is a follow-up to 2009’s G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra and stars Dwayne Johnson, Adrianne Palicki, Channing Tatum and Bruce Willis. While I’m trying to reserve judgment until the full trailer is online, this footage doesn’t look promising. It features plenty of explosions and a couple of groan-worthy one liners. The sequel is a bit of an overhaul from the first film, as many of the characters from the 2009 feature don’t return and Jon Chu (Justin Bieber: Never Say Never) takes over the director’s chair.

Hit the jump to check out the footage, and be sure to check back Monday for the full trailer. The film also stars D.J. Cotrona, Byung-hun Lee, Ray Park, RZA, Joseph Mazzello, Elodie Yung, and Walton Goggins. G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation opens June 29, 2012.

wait until there is more than 20 seconds of footage before you judge, i’m not saying it’ll be good but jugdement should be reserved

I agree, especially since we’re talking about a preview of a preview.

Very telling that Chitwood only lists a project that Jon Chu did that was related to Justin Bieber as if to try to write him off ASAP.

    Very petty, I think.

Doesn’t look promising?! It looks great so far! Guess because it’s not batman it can’t be good? Give me a break. Come Monday try writing a true review!

It’s so easy to tell the people behind this movie are only worried about the money they will make and not so much as the quality of the movie. Yes, I know all studios want money of course but you can tell when they are actually trying to make a movie as good as it can be and when they are not. First vibe I got from that is the hiring of director Jon M. Chu, whose biggest film is a justin beiber documentary. Second vibe I got is just how horrible 20 seconds of the movie is that I just saw….and you would think if they are only showing 20 seconds it better be some of their best footage, well we just saw it. I do love Dwayne Johnson though…I can’t wait to rent the DVD from redbox and watch him Hail Ceaser some bitches.

Hey jdsmoothe,What are you talking about man?! You can tell they only care about money from a 15 second clip? Your just the typical Joe basher with real opinion.
