A new trailer for director Jon Chu’s sequel G.I. Joe: Retaliation has been released. As you’ll see, not much has changed other than the addition of more of Channing Tatum, which was one of the reasons for the film’s reshoots. The other reason was for a 3D post-conversion, but we won’t know how that worked out until the trailer plays in theaters. Ultimately, I can’t help but wonder if audiences will be scratching their heads as they ask, “Wasn’t this supposed to come out in last summer?” Paramount is tasked with selling the movie all over again, and I do not envy them.

Here’s the official synopsis for G.I. Joe: Retaliation:
A follow-up to the 2009 release of G.I. JOE: THE RISE OF COBRA, which grossed over $300M worldwide, Paramount Pictures, MGM and Skydance Productions, in association with HASBRO and di Bonaventura Pictures, commences production on G.I. JOE: RETALIATION. In this sequel, the G.I. Joes are not only fighting their mortal enemy Cobra; they are forced to contend with threats from within the government that jeopardize their very existence. The film stars D.J. Cotrona, Byung-hun Lee, Ray Park, Adrianne Palicki, Jonathan Pryce, RZA, Ray Stevenson, Channing Tatum with Bruce Willis and Dwayne Johnson. Directed by Jon M. Chu, and produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Brian Goldner, from a screenplay by Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick based on Hasbro’s G.I. Joe(R) characters, the film is scheduled to be released on June 29,2012.

It still looks like Channing Tatum is going to leave after the first scene, like Jet Li did on The Expendables 2…
“Wasn’t this supposed to come out in last summer?” Nice grammar Mr. Goldberg.
Fuck Lupe Fiasco.
Kill yourself.
^what he said.
Best thing about the trailer. His work on the New Moon soundtrack was the best thing about that movie too.
IT’S A CRAP!
dumb POS!
Another trailer where they give the ending away. Real Smart
I thought this came out already now I have to remind myself not to see it again.
Love the first movie, PLEASE more Channing Tatum and LESS Rocky! Where is Wayans, Sienna Miller, and Dennis Quaid?
It looks like the only person that signed on for the second movie is Channing Tatum & Jonathan Pryce! Too much visual effects, and not enough real actors.
