With Marvel’s The Avengers opening this weekend, Gallery 1988 in Los Angeles is putting on an Avengers themed art show that’s filled with some really cool stuff.  Featuring original art, posters and prints that are all for sale, if you’re in the L.A. area, it’s definitely worth checking out.  However, for everyone that won’t have a chance to stop by, I attended a preview tonight and took a ton of pics.  I even snapped Joss Whedon and Clark Gregg in front of some of the art.  Hit the jump for the pics and more info.

If you’d like to stop by and see the art for yourself:

Gallery 1988 Los Angeles

7020 Melrose Avenue
Los Angeles, CA 90038

Located at the SouthEast corner of Melrose and La Brea.  Also, according to the website, the show is open May 3 from 7 to 10pm.

As you’ll see in the pics below, they’ve got a lot of cool stuff.  Most of the posters/prints are under $50.

Finally, the cool Avengers themed cupcakes are from thecakemamas.com.  You can follow them on Twitter here.
