Last month we got our first look at Julianne Moore as Sarah Palin in HBO's political drama film Game Change. Now we have our first look at the other star of the film with an image of Ed Harris as presidential candidate and Senator John McCain. Once again, the resemblance is uncanny, and I can't wait to see Harris actually portraying McCain in the film. See the full image after the jump. Here's the image of Ed Harris as John McCain courtesy of EW:game-change-movie-image-ed-harris-01Directed by Jay Roach (who previously delivered Recount for HBO), the film dives into politics again, but this time follows John McCain’s (Harris) 2008 presidential campaign, from his selection of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin (Moore) as his running mate to their ultimate defeat in the general election. The film also stars Ron Livingston (Office Space), Sarah Paulson (Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip), Peter MacNicol (24) and Justin Gaston (The Escapee) have joined the cast while THR reports Larry Sullivan (CSI), Jamey Sheridan (Trauma) and Melissa Farman (Temple Grandin). Here's the synopsis for John Heilemann and Mark Halperin's Game Change:

In 2008 , the presidential election became blockbuster entertainment. Everyone was watching as the race for the White House unfolded like something from the realm of fiction. The meteoric rise and historic triumph of Barack Obama. The shocking fall of the House of Clinton—and the improbable resurrection of Hillary as Obama’s partner and America’s face to the world. The mercurial performance of John McCain and the mesmerizing emergence of Sarah Palin. But despite the wall-to-wall media coverage of this spellbinding drama, remarkably little of the real story behind the headlines had been told—until now.

In Game Change, John Heilemann and Mark Halperin pull back the curtains on the Obama, Clinton, McCain, and Palin campaigns. Based on hundreds of interviews with the people who lived thestory, Game Change is a reportorial tour de force that reads like a fast-paced novel. [Amazon]
