It looks like Game of Thrones has picked up another bastard. Former Misfits star Iwan Rheon seems to have joined the HBO hit’s sprawling ensemble; while there’s been no official announcement yet, Rheon’s agents have added the show to his official CV. While the vitae only specifies that he will be playing a “Boy,” many giddy fans are already speculating that he’s set for the role of Ramsay Snow, aka “The Bastard of Bolton.” Based on some of your comments in our last (massive) Game of Thrones casting round-up, this should come as welcome news, indeed. Keeping in mind that we have no confirmation that Rheon will be playing Ramsay, hit the jump for a bit more on the character, plus some visual evidence that would seem to all but confirm that he’s joined the cast. Mild SPOILERS if you haven’t finished watching Season 2 yet.Further proof that this young thesp will be win-or-dying it next season can be found in the following Facebook pic, which features Rheon hanging out with Games cast members Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jamie Lannister), Alfie Allen (Theon Greyjoy) and Gwendoline Christie (Brienne of Tarth) at a bar in Belfast, Ireland, where production on Season 3 is underway (via winteriscoming.net).Now for the spoilery stuff. Fans of the show will remember a scene in Season 2, when Robb Stark is informed that his old pal Theon has betrayed him and seized Winterfell. At this point, Roose Bolton, one of his lieutenants, is all like “No worries, bro. My bastard’s all over it.” Ramsay is that bastard. That’s all I have to say about the character, since I’m avoiding book-born spoilers. But I can tell a lot more about Rheon. Basically, the guy is a rock star. For the last three years, his character Simon has been the anchor of UK supernatural drama Misfits, a tough role that had Rheon playing a very creepy kid who was never less than completely lovable. Not many actors could have pulled it off. Anyone who hasn’t seen the show should remedy that as soon as possible. Once you do, it won’t really matter who he happens to be playing on Game of Thrones; you’ll just be psyched that he’s on board at all. Of course, we’ll update the post once HBO makes an official comment.game-of-thrones-season-2-kit-harington
