As if there was any doubt that the second season premiere of Game of Thrones would be big, the ratings are in just to make a point. EW reports the return to Westeros was the most watched program on Sunday night, even beating out AMC's longer running drama Mad Men and the NCAA's March Madness basketball match-ups. The premiere garnered 3.86 million viewers which is not only a new high for the entire series, but also a new high among viewers 18 to 49, a demographic which helped make Game of Thrones the most popular show that night. The series is up a whopping 73% from the premiere last year, and I wouldn't be surprised if the announcement of renewal for a third season came within the week.In the meantime, check out the preview of things to come in this second season, which aired after the premiere on Sunday, right after the jump.
