The fourth season premiere of HBO’s massively popular drama series Game of Thrones is just a few short days away, and in anticipation of the event, the network has unveiled a new gallery of images teasing the new season.  These 10 episodes will cover roughly the second half of the third book in George R.R. Martin’s series, A Storm of Swords, and as we can see in these images, many characters will find themselves in precarious situations.  Most notably, this new image gallery gives us a close look at Daenerys’ (Emilia Clarke) dragons, which have grown considerably since we last saw them.

Hit the jump to take a look at the images.  The show also stars Peter Dinklage, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Lena Headey, Charles Dance, Kit Harington, Rose Leslie, Natalie Dormer, Gwendoline Christie, and Jack GleesonGame of Thrones season four premieres on HBO Sunday, April 6th.  Check back here on Collider after the episode to read Allison’s full recap.

I will not be a page in someone else’s history book. Stannis becomes so DGAF soon.

That is soooo not how you hold a bow…look at that….that’s just …UGH.

    • the king of comedy

she`s a wilding, she is not suppossed to be a trained soldier, and just like the free people on the other side of the wall, she does as she pleases

      • DEADP00L

I’m not going to even ask why that matters. It’s like saying a gun owner can’t know how to point a gun unless he or she is a soldier… I do believe a LITTLE common sense works.

      • the king of comedy

you might not know the proper way to hold a gun if you have never seen TV shows, movies, soldiers, instructions, etc, not everyone knows how to hold a rifle, if you had taugh yourself how to hold a gun you might end up holding it sideways, wich is not the right way but still good enough to kill. In this case the wildings don`t know much about combat either, they`ve never even seen the armies, soldiers from the other side of the wall.

      • DEADP00L

Granted OR the actor was not told that if you plan to shoot an arrow you might not want your index finger looped around it. It’s one thing to hold the bow wrong but the finger … might as well throw rocks. But this is me nit picking. I’m an archer as a hobby so it’s sort of an itch when one sees actors pretend to be archers – or attempt to use a bow. Again, your point could be valid we’ll have to see the actual scene to see if the character fires a shot or not.

      • Eduardo Fitzarelli

She might be mid-conversation and not intending to fire.

I`m really excited for this season, it has the potential to be the greatest season of the whole series since it`s bassed on the best part of the best book, people should expect many shocking moments trough the whole season, not only in episode 9. For book readers I`m pretty sure that Arya and The Hound are goping to steal the first episode, Geoffrey and Tyrion the second episode 2, Dany the third, The Red Viper and the Mountain the 8eth episode, and probably Jon Snow, Tyrion and Tywin the 9th, maybe even Arya and the Hound again, and the final episode should be all about Littlefinger. If you have read the bokks I`m pretty sure you know the events that I`m talking about in each episode. It`ll be amazing

Pet Peeve: Her name isn’t Khaleesi, it’s Daenerys! Khaleesi is the title given to her for marrying a Khal.

    • Leo Spaceman

Khal isn’t Drogo’s name is it? I thought Khal meant King as in King Drogo and Khaleesi means queen. I really don’t know. I could be entirely wrong I really don’t know. If anyone else does, could they confirm that please.

      • TheOscarRP

Khal is indeed a title, but not for king, since Dothraki aren’t ruled by a monarchy. The Khal is the leader of the khalasar, or group of riders.

      • Leo Spaceman

So when the dude that secretly loves Daenerys constantly refers to her as Khaleesi, he isn’t refering to her as my queen?

      • Grendal Sven

        Poor, lovestruck, Jorah.

      • TheOscarRP

In a way. He could also call her “my queen” since she’s considered to be the rightful heir to the Iron Throne, but his calling her Khaleesi (a title that, yes, she was given at first, but then earned for herself when she formed and led her own khalasar after Drogo’s death) makes her sound powerful and fierce in comparison to a queen’s traditional role of just sitting there approving of her husband’s decisions.

      • Grendal Sven

Khaleesi doesn’t mean “Queen” I believe it means something quite literally like “The wife of the Khal.”

“A khaleesi’s status varies greatly from khalasar to khalasar. She could be very influential, riding next to the khal, or she could be worth practically less than thekhal’s horse, since the khal’s bloodriders would sometimes share the khaleesi, but never share the khal’s horse.”

From the wiki, I can’t remember if this is a quote strait from the books, but she was basically just a glorified slave, to use as the Khal see’s fit.

That’s a pet peeve of mine as well. I assume it’s because it’s Daenerys isn’t easy to spell unless you look it up.

I think Emilia Clarke would make a good live-action Princess Zelda.
