So unless you've been living under a rock somewhere out in the Summer Isles, you'll know that Game of Thrones' fifth season ended with a controversial scene: Jon Snow (Kit Harington), betrayed by his Brothers of the Night's Watch, was stabbed (a lot) and maybe died. Fans everywhere have wailed and gnashed their teeth ever since over the uncertainty of it all. Since the show caught up to the books with that finale, no one had any definitive answer about Jon Snow's fate.

For the past several months, we've been watching the status of Kit's man-bun (still intact) and his frequent trips to Game of Thrones filming locale Belfast as signs that Snow may return, in some form. Harington himself also let a few interesting things slip to a European magazine that seemed to suggest he won't be done with the show any time soon. Now, despite the willful and unnecessary obfuscations of HBO, showrunners D.B. Weiss and David Benioff, and the forced silence of the cast, it would appear (via this first Season 6 poster) that Jon Snow is returning ... right?

I mean he could be dead, which might make this the creepiest poster ever released.

Let's assume he's alive. The bigger questions are both how he survives, and in what form. Though the TV series hasn't given much time to it, the books build up a lot of resurrection mythology that could come in to play, especially since we saw Melisandre (Carice van Houten) return to the Wall in the final episode for no real reason (since it would be full of her enemies).

So, the poster shows a bloodied Snow with a cut on his face, but is he also potentially looking a little pale? Is he not just alive but more specifically "undead"? Also, is this not the best teaser poster HBO has ever released? Give us your thoughts and theories in the comments!

Also, as seen on this poster, Game of Thrones will return to HBO in April.
