Warner Bros. has released new images from Gangster Squad. The film is set in 1940s Los Angeles, and stars Sean Penn as real-life gangster Mickey Cohen, who became the target of special task force known as the “Gangster Squad”. The impressive cast also includes Josh Brolin, Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone, Nick Nolte, Michael Peña, Anthony Mackie, and Giovanni Ribisi. While I found the trailer a bit underwhelming, the premise and cast are keeping this film near the top of my most-anticipated list.

Here’s the official synopsis for Gangster Squad:
Los Angeles, 1949. Ruthless, Brooklyn-born mob king Mickey Cohen (Sean Penn) runs the show in this town, reaping the ill-gotten gains from the drugs, the guns, the prostitutes and–if he has his way–every wire bet placed west of Chicago. And he does it all with the protection of not only his own paid goons, but also the police and the politicians who are under his control. It’s enough to intimidate even the bravest, street-hardened cop…except, perhaps, for the small, secret crew of LAPD outsiders led by Sgt. John O’Mara (Josh Brolin) and Jerry Wooters (Ryan Gosling), who come together to try to tear Cohen’s world apart. “The Gangster Squad” is a colorful retelling of events surrounding the LAPD’s efforts to take back their nascent city from one of the most dangerous mafia bosses of all time.

The notebook was a piece of crap.Every talented actor involved in a Nicolas Sparks adaptation should be ashamed,and anyone who likes his drivel should be ashamed of their lack of taste.

Looper sucked my balls. But, yeah, the Gangster Squad trailer was amazing.
I liked the trailer,even though there were some cliched lines in it. But it’s just a trailer,still looking foward to it.
And Emma Stone looks sexy as hell in that pic.
Okay, for my money TDKR and Prometheus were better. But I get the dumbfoundedness.
yep- hair -makeup team are responsible for every actor and actresses looksy every time. surprising no one.
Surprising no one. That” look” is called ” hair and makeup “on any given movie set. That look is required and the actor only has to sit in a chair and whammo!! It’s a look. Lets not forget wardrobe deptartment. All part of what goes on on a movie set. Live it ,know it, learn it.
