With the remake of Wes Craven’s “The Last House on the Left” opening at movie theaters this Friday, these next few days are what I’m calling “Last House Week” on Collider. What that means is….everyday I’ll be posting a different video interview with either a cast member or director Dennis Iliadis and Wes Craven (they were paired at the press day). While I’ve already posted my interview with Sara Paxton, it’s now time to watch the one with Garret Dillahunt.

For some of you, Garret is going to look really familiar. That’s because he’s been in a ton of movies and TV shows like “Deadwood”, “The 4400”, “No Country for Old Men”, “The Assassination of Jesse James”, and most recently, he’s been a Terminator on “Terminator: The Sarah Conner Chronicles”.

But for me, he’s just my BFF from Comic-Con. Let me explain.

At a recent Comic-Con I ran into Garret on the convention floor. Since I’d previously interviewed him, somehow we got into a casual conversation and I mentioned something about his all access badge. In case you don’t know about Comic-Con, it’s very hard to move around. But for celebrities and VIP’s, they have a special badge that lets them cut through back alleyways and it gets them to places normal folks can’t. That’s the kind of badge Garret had, and I’ll admit to being completely jealous.

But after I told him about how cool the badge was, he proceeded to offer it for me to use. He said something about leaving pretty soon and he took it off and handed it to me. Needless to say, I was floored. I barely knew the guy and he was offering me cool swag. Since then, I’ve run into him a few times and each time we joke around about the badge and I keep saying I owe him. Since I’m sure I’ll never have anything as cool as that badge to return the favor with, hopefully this story will suffice. While you always hear about actors as really difficult people or hard to work with, Garret could not have been nicer and more friendly every time I’ve spoken with him. Trust me, it’s not the norm.

And that’s how we’re BFF’s from Comic-Con.

But enough about that, let’s get to the reason you’re here….the interview.

In “The Last House on the Left” Garret plays the leader of the gang that comes to terrorize a family. Let’s just say Garret’s character is not a guy you'd ever want to run into.

Here’s the synopsis:

“Last House on the Left” explores how far two ordinary people will go to exact revenge on the sociopaths who harmed their child. Here’s the synopsis:

The night she arrives at the remote Collingwood lakehouse, Mari (Sara Paxton) and her friend are kidnapped by a prison escapee and his crew. Terrified and left for dead, Mari’s only hope is to make it back to parents John and Emma (Tony Goldwyn and Monica Potter). Unfortunately, her attackers unknowingly seek shelter at the one place she could be safe. And when her family learns the horrifying story, they will make three strangers curse the day they came to The Last House on the Left.

And with that, here’s Garret. Finally, if you’d like to watch some movie clips click here.
