The always-awesome Gary Oldman has joined the voice cast for Kung Fu Panda: The Kaboom of Doom.  According to Heat Vision, the 3D sequel to 2008’s surprisingly great Kung Fu Panda will center on “Po's search for other pandas and his run-in with a group of bandits.”  Oldman will be voicing a character named Peacock who “helps Po find the bandits but is more than he seems.”  Jack Black, Angelina Jolie, Seth Rogen, Lucy Liu, David Cross, and Dustin Hoffman are all set to reprise their roles from the first movie.  Kaboom of Doom is currently in production and is slated to hit theaters on June 3, 2011.

Oldman recently ate the scenery as the villain in this year’s Book of Eli and can next be seen reprising his role as Sirius Black in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II next July.  He's also set to co-star in Catherine Hardwicke's Girl with the Red Riding Hood and the indie gangster flick Criminal Empire for Dummys.
